Upcoming Events
May 16-17: Center for Ecology-Based Economy (CEBE) - 2030 Vision and climate convergence. Probably too late to travel but check out the speakers and organizations!
May 17: Free the River Paddle-in and Riverfest in Camden - 10am @ Steamboat Landing with small craft of your choice, or meet at 11am @ Harbor Park for speakers, live music etc.
May 18: Sunday Stroll “PLANTS” on Main Street, Rockland, 11am-4pm. Plant-themed street fair on pedestrian-only Main Street in Rockland. Food, vendors, activities, trivia, talks, and more! Kid-friendly.
May 18: Lime City Halcyon performance @ Rockland Strand, 4pm. Live string quartet music accompanied by Rockland history and climate change reality. Tickets through Strand.
May 21: Land Conservation for Climate @ Rockport Library, 6pm. Protecting lands for the future.
May 29: Rockport Harbor Strategic Plan public meeting, 5pm @ Rockport Opera House. See committee and consultant ideas and provide comments.
May 30: SEA Fair at Camden Middle School. 12pm-4pm, tomato seedlings + environmental organizations.
June 7: Belfast Climate Resilience Fair, Steamboat Landing, 10am-3pm. 40+ local businesses and nonprofits with resources and examples of preparing for climate change. Speakers from across the state. Family activities, music, food trucks!
June 10: Town Meeting Day! Visit your town’s website to check out the ballot to prepare!
June 11: Zero Energy Homes demonstration house tour in Searsport before the public open house - small insider tour for building/energy professionals and Happy Hour folks. Contact amanda (amanda@beechhillresearch.com or 802-448-2992) for carpooling from Rockland and Camden. Leave Rockland by 4pm and Camden by 4:10pm to arrive by 5pm (considering Route 1 traffic).
July 9: Midcoast Happy Hour + Roux ClimateTech Incubator event @ Midcoast Villager Cafe!
August - Straight story on AI and energy use from Paul and Cynthia Stancioff, at Merryspring Nature Center.
August - Radical Reuse fair in Union - furniture, crafts and inspiration from deconstructed homes, salvaged and found objects
Growing Action
Second Story Builders - Danny Salomon has officially launched, with a growing crew of all ages who are deconstructing old homes and buildings, preparing materials and building markets for re-use.
Stop by 59 Chestnut St in Camden to check it out *or* pick up building materials to repurpose into furniture or crafts for the August Radical Reuse fair

Camden/Rockport Climate Corps - Camden and Rockport received a state Community Resilience Partnership grant for neighbor-to-neighbor outreach and coaching for housing and energy improvements, and storm preparedness and response.
