Thought leaders and practitioners come together to share the history of building science, where we are today, and where we need to go...FAST. Interspersed with lively networking and great food!

July 9: Startup Maine + Roux Institute + Midcoast Villager + Orange Bike Brewing + Midcoast Happy Hour!
Come learn how climate, energy and environmental businesses are growing. Make connections and find resources from Startup Maine, the ClimateTech Incubator, and others for all stages of growth. Venture-funded Orange Bike Brewing is coming with free beer (!) and stories of building a sustainable and community-minded business. Non-alcoholic drinks and light snacks too!
All welcome, from job-seekers, startup-curious, founders and friends.

July 14: Insider Tour of Zero Energy Homes Demonstration House!
Zero Energy Homes is an MDI-based home builder committed to scaling net-zero, Maine-based, affordable housing. They are wrapping up construction and holding an “insider tour” before the Open House for building/energy/housing professionals to see and learn about the materials and process. Panelization, TimberHP, solar and more; layers of incentives and rebates to make it affordable to working families.

August 23: Radical Reuse Festival, Union
This is a call for Artists and Makers! Second Story Builders - a building deconstruction, reuse and circular economy pioneer - is organizing a festival to showcase reclaimed building materials. Seeking anyone reusing, or interested in reusing, reclaimed materials!
Contact Danny (danny@secondstorybuilders.com) to get involved or request materials! They have a growing inventory of wood, metal and materials from all sorts of projects and are happy to set you up!

Camden/Rockport Energy Coaching: Call for Volunteers!
Camden & Rockport are launching a joint Energy Coaching program to help residents assess, plan, make decisions, and finance home energy upgrades. Volunteer coaches (you?) will receive training and resources to visit homes and help people navigate their options. There will also be a *paid* project manager position - coming soon!
